As a part of Cultivate Joy, I offer licensed private practice therapy sessions. Sometimes life can hit us hard, even if things are going well. Any transition in our lives can be a struggle and learning how to navigate through it on our own can be challenging, especially trying to balance the competing demands in our life. This is what therapy is for.
I just want to debunk a common myth about therapy here: If you go to therapy, it does not mean you are crazy. A lot of people seek therapeutic services every day. Whether you are struggling with mental illness or a transitional time in your life, therapy with a licensed practitioner can help you.
Therapy is a confidential environment bound by law, with a few exceptions regarding mandated reporting of elder abuse, child abuse, and threatening to harm another person. It is my goal to partner with my clients to come up with solutions to their challenges. Therapy is not a one way process where the therapist imparts knowledge and answers to the client; therapy is a partnership and a process of reflection and problem solving together.
